Two Generations Together: Case Studies from Head Start

For fifty years, Head Start has worked to empower whole families as they move toward educational attainment and self-sufficiency. This case study report highlights six programs' successes in designing two-generation efforts that build on family strengths and community resources to support children and parents together. Recommendations for Training and Technical Assistance

This draft discussion document was submitted by a short-term NHSA Training and Technical Assistance Working Group to the Administration for Children and Families. (September 2014)

Recommendations for Revisions to the Head Start Standards

As the standards were streamlined and revised to meet new needs, reflect modern understanding of child development, and support program quality and innovation, the NHSA Performance Standards Work Group submitted "Recommendations for Revisions to the Head Start Program Performance Standards" to the Office of Head Start. Recommendations for Expansion and Partnership

These recommendations on the implementation of funds allocated for Early Head Start Expansion and Early Head Start-Child Care Partnerships were submitted to the Administration for Children and Families by NHSA, the National Association for Family Child Care, and numerous state and regional Head Start associations. Partners for Success: Case Studies of Collaboration

Head Start has a key role to play in the mixed delivery systems states already have or will design for Pre-K expansion. "Partners for Success: Case Studies of Collaboration Between Head Start and Pre-K" illustrates the realities and variations of how Head Start and Pre-K programs work together in 11 states. Measuring Compliance and Continuous Improvement

As the Office of Head Start revisited its monitoring system, the Head Start Monitoring Task Force submitted input on behalf of the Head Start community through "Measuring Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Toward Excellence for Head Start" - much of which has now been realized through the Aligned Monitoring System.
